Another 24th passes

So if you didn't know already, the reason my blog is title Together 24 is because everyone in our little family has a birthday on the 24th of some month, Hubbs in Aug, Noodle in Dec., Nugget in Feb. and me in July.

Well yesterday was June 24th and we had lots to celebrate. Yesterday was Noodle's 1/2 birthday! She's not officially 1/2 way to being 7 and she can't seem to stop talking about turning 7. She's so excited! When the Hubbs and I got married, his side of the family started celebrating her 1/2 birthday so she didn't feel like she got jipped. With her being on Christmas Eve, they wanted to make sure she got birthday presents that were separate from her Christmast presents. So to celebrate, last night we went to Fonduely Yours with Nana. It was the first time going there for all of us. We had such a great time and left completely stuffed. We had some cheese fondue with bread, apples and some veggies. We had a variety of meats and veggies to cook up. Then to finish things up, we had some chocolate fondue with cake, marshmallows, bananas, apples and a few other things. Man, was it yummy! My favorites were the stuffed mushrooms and the chocolate covered marshmallows!
Yesterday, Nugget also turned 16 months. He's developing such a little personality and its too funny!
At his last checkup which was about 3 wks ago, he was 23 lbs and 29.75 inches. He's a little peanut compared to Noodle!
He talks nonstop but we have no idea what he's saying.
He says a few words here and there but definitely only talks on his own terms. When he actually wants to, he can say "dog" "Mama" "Dada" "Olivia" "uh-oh" "meow" "cookie" and a few others I'm sure that I can't think of right now. He's very verbal when he gets mad and it almost sounds like he's cursing at you. Which we know is not the case since we don't curse in front of him!
He walking all over the place and becoming quite the explorer/climber. He's so cute because he walks with his little belly poking out! He climbs in and out of his seat where he eats and in and out the back of his tonka dump truck.
He's just recently started doing "Itsy, Bitsy Spider" with his little fingers! It's so cute!
He's also eats non-stop! We're starting to think that he's a bottomless pit. We're not quite sure where he puts all of it.
His eczema is still not completely under control and its set off very easily! He's not on any dairy and seems to be allergic to mango. Luckily he isn't old enough to miss the dairy. We've done as much as we can to make sure he still gets things like cheese and yogurt, just vegan cheese and soy yogurt. He loves soy milk too!
He just today recognized himself in the mirror. It was so cute. He looked in the mirror and then touched his face because he saw that there was something on it. He's in the midst of a flare up so his face isn't looking that great and he has several scabby spots. He noticed them this time though when he looked in the mirror.

So another 24th passes meaning we're 8 months closer to the terrible twos, 6 months closer to Christmas and to Noodle turning 7, 2 months away from Hubbs turning 29 and 1 month away from my 27th birthday!

Fawk You Friday!

BWS tips button
So it seems as though there in a reoccuring theme for my Fawk You Friday!
With that being said,

Fawk you to my husband's boss-the giant jerk who came back from vacation after having two weekends and the whole week between those two weekends to take away all of my husband's days off this week. My husband worked his ass off while the boss was gone and he gets rewarded by having to work something like 10 days straight without a day off. I'm not talking about your usual 8-5 workdays, I'm talking he has to be to work at 6:30am and doesn't get off til 9pm. There should be some kind of law against that!
Fawk you to my husband's boss who by taking away all of Hubbs' days off caused him to not be able to go to Noodle's 1/2 birthday dinner at Fonduely Yours! He was originally suppose to be off yesterday so he was going to get to go. I hate it that he missed out because it was so much fun and was a first for all of us except for him! He misses out on so many family functions and moments. I mean wasn't it bad enough that he had to work on Father's day this past weekend because you took two weekends in a row off?
Fawk you to my house- I'm tired of cleaning you, its been long enough and you're old enough, that you should know how to clean yourself!

I think thats all!

5 Question Friday!

So I've been a horrible blogger. Being that it is summer, I've been busy trying to occupy them so I haven't felt like linking up for blog parties and we haven't really done anything exciting worth blogging about. I'll get back into the swing of things soon, I hope!

Until then, here's another 5 Question Friday! brought to you by Mama M!

1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument?
Why yes I do! I started playing the piano when I was either in second and third grade and continued until at least my freshman year in high school. I should have continued with it longer but I hated recitals. I love playing for myself but I absolutely hate playing in front of anyone. So I quit! I have a piano that's at my grandparents and I can't wait til we have room for it in our own place so I can play when its just me!
2. What is your pet peeve while driving?
Those people that never go the speed limit and those people who always want to speed and ride your ass when you get in the way of their speeding. I'm not a big fan of driving so I probably have more pet peeve while being a passenger than while driving!

3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services? I'd rather have a housekeeper because I hate cleaning and it seems like its a never ending process around here with Hurricane Noodle that I swear comes behind me to destroy what I just cleaned! Besides, if I had a housekeeper, then I wouldn't be spending all my time cleaning which means I'd have more "me" time to use spa services.
4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or high school dance? Oh man, there's a ton of those! Gettin Jiggy with It takes me back to a ninth grade dance, Da Dip, Cotton Eye Joe, Water Runs Dry, the list could go on....all take me back to the dances they used to have at the Citadel. Every summer, the Citadel had a summer camp for boys and they always had dances on Friday or Saturdays for girls to come to and they were so much fun!
5. What song best represents your life right now? Hmmm...that's a hard one! I don't know if I've thought about that recently. I'm really loving Jewel's song, "Stay Here Forever" I just love the lyrics and remind me of the simpler times before the kids.
'Cause if you wanna go
Baby, let's go
If you wanna rock,
I'm ready to roll
And if you wanna slow down,
We can slow down together
If you wanna walk,
Baby, let's walk
Have a little kiss,
Have a little talk
We don't gotta leave at all
We can stay here forever
Lay here forever,

Great Father's Day present

This is just an example. I haven't been able to put his real present together yet because Noodle has been with her dad for the weekend. Me being the procrastinator that I am, just decided Sat. morning that this is what I wanted to do for Hubbs but Noodle left early Sat. morning to go to her dads so I didn't have the chance to take pictures that included her. Nugget would only sit still long enough to take two pictures which is why the D pictures are the same. I'm hoping he'll cooperate a lot better once Noodle gets home!

Anyway, here it is! I can't wait to do one with both the kids!

Happy Father's Day!

I've been a horrible blogger lately so I figured today's a great day to get back to it.

Happy Father's Day to the wonderful father my husband is!!!!
I knew he was going to be a great day from very early on! When Hubbs and I met, Noodle was not quite 2. One of the first times we went out to eat and Noodle was with us, I had to leave her at the table for a minute to run to the bathroom and I just knew she was going to scream. Her mommy was leaving her at a table with 4 or 5 people she didn't know like she knew her mommy and Frank was the one right next to her and she knew him the least. When I came back from the bathroom, she wasn't screaming but instead, she was laughing at Frank who was entertaining her with the little booklet they put your check in at restaurants! He didn't have to do that but he did and she loved it. That's when I knew he would be a great dad.
Well, that was almost 5 years ago and now, he's shown me that he's not only a great stepdad to Noodle but a great dad to Nugget! Nugget shows me that every single day. He's a straight up daddy's boy. If Hubbs is home, Noodle won't have anything to do with me and I think Hubbs wouldn't have it any other way. Heck, I don't think I'd have it any other way! I love that Frank not only does the fun stuff with Noodle, but he also does the nasty parts that come with Noodle, like the smelliest diapers you could ever imagine!
So Happy Father's Day Babe! I'm sorry you are stuck at work today!
Happy Father's Day to all the other dads out there too! I hope all you other moms are as lucky as I am to have a great dad in your husband!

First Monday of Summer!

So today's the first Monday of summer and I'm hoping that the
rest of the days of summer are as great as today was!
Nood started Cheerleading Camp at my old high school.
Nug and I visited with some friends while she was at camp.
We picked Liv up from cheerleading camp.
It was quiet time when we got home so Nugget took a nap
while Noodle watched The Tooth Fairy and played in her room.
That meant I got to do whatever I wanted! WooHoo!
After quiet time, we went to play in the Sprinkler Pad at the Park.
Noodle loved it, Nugget wasn't so sure!
Picked up French Toast Sticks from Sonic for dinner
Noodle surprisingly asked to take a shower as soon as we walked in the door!
Nugget ate his french toast sticks along with some strawberries.
After bathing and eating, Noodle practiced some of her cheers for us.
I cracked up at Nugget clapping, stomping and shaking his butt along with her!
Both kids were in bed by 7:30
YAY for "ME" TIME!!!!

Here are some pictures from the park today!

2. What are you passionate about?
My kids. They are my life and have made me who I am!

3. How long have you been blogging?
Since Nov. or Dec. of 2009. That's not very long and I didn't do it often when I first started!

4. What is your favorite "summer" drink?
I love me some pink lemonade during the summer or just some sweet tea. What can I say? I'm a true southern girl!

5. What is your favorite type of music?I like alot but my favorite would be more of a genre that a type. I love me some 80s and 90s. My husband has satellite radio is his truck with stations that play strictly those and I'm so jealous!!

6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?get on the computer and blog. It's practically the only time I have without the kids swarming around!

7. My Summer vacation plans are...?nothing really. Spend lots of time with both kids since Liv's out of school. Maybe do some fun crafts, go to the beach or waterpark and just chill!

8. My favorite must have, can't live without, beauty product is? I don't really have one. I'm not big on beauty products. I only wear makeup on special occasions and that only consists of some mineral makeup, bronzer and mascara.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Fawk You Friday!!!!!!!!!

My very very first Fawk You Friday!!! I'm kind of excited about getting to vent and give a big fawk you to those that need it!
 BWS tips button

Fawk You to my husband's job who feels that its necessary to extend there hours due to the time change. So now instead of him no getting home untl after 9 when they closed at 8, he will now most likely be getting home after 10 since they will now be closing at 9. Who really needs to get their car worked on at 9 o'clock at night? I mean Really?

You know, I think that may be my only fawk you for today! I guess that's a good thing!

This just in...as the day has continued I've gotten another one!!!!!!!!
Fawk You principal of my daughter's school and the damn residency verification. I'm sorry my tax receipt shows 6% instead of 4% but when we refinanced they changed the rate on us and we have yet to get it set back to the 4% where its supposed to be. However, it has the same address on it that it has had on it for the previos two years. As for the other information you need, I already turned it in and now you're saying its unacceptable! How is it that I used the same forms of identifaction the previous two years but now my car taxes bill is not acceptable. FAWK YOU KIM!!!! If I didn't know any better, I would think that you were trying to make us leave the school. Well guess what, we're in that process because your school is too full of hippie liberals for my taste. If you're going to teach my child about the presidential candidate, teach her about all of them not just Obama. If you're going to teach my child about holidays, teach her about all of them not just Hanukah and Earth Day!

Have a fabulous Friday!!!

Five Question Friday!

Another Five Question Friday brought to you by MamaM!

Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog. Answer them, then c'mon back to link up! I would love it if you'd link back to me, Mama M., but that's not a requirement!

If you don't have a blog, but still would like to play along, feel free to leave your answers in the comments of this post or any blog along the blog hop way!

Oh, and the biggest rule? Have fun!! ;)

Questions for Friday, June 4th:
1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?
That's a hard one for me because there are so many things that I'm interested in. I wouldn't do Psychology even though that's what my degree is in. I think I would either do nursing or graphic design. I know, two totally different fields.

2. What do you love most about your home?
That it's mine. I own it! I bought it in 2006 when I was 23 and I love that I was able to do that. Now its where we watch our family grow.

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?
I'm not a big fan of reading books but I do love listening to them. My MIL gets books and puts them on her iPod so I get them from her. So far I really enjoy it! I can just connect up my iPod in the car and listen while I'm driving. Olivia doesn't enjoy it too much but Owen doesn't seem to mind!

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
I don't know! I can't really think of anything. The grossest thing that I won't eat is Green Peppers and that's because I have a horribly gross story that goes with it that I will spare you! I hate the taste and most importantly the smell of them! YUCK!!!!!!!

5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
Hmmm...maybe Meredith Grey. She gets to be married to a beautiful man, Derek Sheppard and she's a doctor so that doesn't sound too bad either.

Teachers' Gifts!

Normally I'm the mom that forgets all about Teachers' gifts. Luckily, I have a great grandmother who always remembers them and picks something up. Well, this year, since it was Noodel's last year in this class, I wanted to make sure I got all her teachers something. She goes to a montessori school so she's been in the same class for three years and now she'll be moving from the primary class to the lower elementary class.

I decided that I wanted to make them all something so that it was a little more personal. I made them each a frame, personalized some hand sanitizer and made some clothes pin magnets. I love Mod Podge and everything you can do with it. I also got them each a little basket to stick all the stuff in!

So here are some pictures of what I made. I didn't get a picture of the final present all put together in the basket however!

I just used plain wooden frames that I got for $1 and made them pretty with scrapbook paper, beads and felt. Of course, I used Mod Podge as my glue!

I got these hand sanitizers also for $1 and I'd much rather have personalized ones than plain ones. Again, I used Mod Podge, scrapbook paper and ribbon. I also used the Mod Podge with glitter. My paper was two sided so it gave the sanitizer a pink tint.

These magnets I made with clothes pins, magnet strips and either paper or ribbon. I just attached the paper/ribbon with Mod Podge. The green polka dotted one has a bead that I hot glued on.

W is for Wednesday and...

Weddings!

I love all things wedding! I loved planning our wedding. I loved talking about weddings. I love going to weddings. So this week I pick weddings for my other 'W' word.

Here's how it works. If you want to join in just copy the question into your own blog, answer and post. Come back here and let me know you joined in so I can read what you wrote about!

What are your 3 favorite things about weddings? This can be your three favorite things that happened at you own wedding or just three of your favorite things about weddings in general!

So here are my three favorite things from my wedding!
1. Hubbs' vows to Noodle! When we start laying out our ceremony, we decided to include vows to Noodle! I had Nood preHubbs, so he wasn't just marrying me, he was marrying her too! I knew from the beginning that he was a great man because he accepted me even though I had a child and he loved that child as much as he loved me and treated her as his own from practically day one! So during our ceremony, after we said our vows to each other, Frank said his vows to Noodle. He vowed to love her as if she were his but also vowed to not try to fill the spot that was her fathers. He would have his own special place in her heart like she had in his! Like we exchanged rings with our vows, He gave her a necklace. The necklace has three hearts: one for me, one for him and the middle one for her. The middle one had her name engraved on it! I am so lucky to have found a man who loved me and my child!

2.Our cake! I loved, loved, loved our cake! When picking out our cake, I didn't want the usual white cake! I decided to go with a cake that Publix had listed under Groom's cakes. Our colors were brown and red and the cake had a layer that was chocolate coated on top with it running down the side. It was supposed to come with chocolate cover strawberries on it but instead, we put the strawberries as filling in the layer with the chocolater coating. It tasted like a big chocolate covered strawberry and was wonderful! I just wish I got more of it! Here's a picture of it from the site.

3. Planning it on a much smaller budget that most weddings are planned! Since this was my second wedding, we had to pay for a lot of it ourselves. I planned everything on aboutan $8000 budget and loved every minute of it! It wasn't stressful to me but fun to see what all I could get. I also did a lot of things myself. I made the favors, the inviations, and the programs. We splurged on food and photography which took up most of our budget but those are some of the most important things to have. You want to make sure your guests have yummy food and you want to have great pictures to remember the day by for years and years!

I'm going to have to try to add pictures later. For some reason it won't upload any right now and I don't really have the time to keep messing with it at the moment.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has to share! I love weddings!

until next time...
